Britpop adjacent indie legends Dodgy come to KU in Stockton for a full band show of the all the hits from their classic albums Homegrown and Free Peace Sweet much more. The Hounslow trio formed n 1990 but rocketed to fame after the release of seminal second album Homegrown, which
contained the mega hit Staying Out For The Summer, and their song Good Enough which featured in the hit movie Sliding Doors. Fans of the band can expect a late summer celebration of infectious indie-pop with underlying socially aware themes.
Comprising singer Nigel Clark, drummer Mathew Priest and bassist Andy Miller, Dodgy's debut album, Free Peace Sweet, was produced by The Lightning Seeds's Ian Broudie with the band also supporting The Serious Road Trip, War Child, the Liverpool Dockers'; Strike, Charter88 and youth
democracy campaigns. Second album Homegrown followed in 1994 (receiving a prestigious ten-out- ten in an NME review) and Free Peace Sweet in 1996.
While Clark was absent from 1998 to 2007 to pursue ongoing solo projects, Priest and Miller continued the band as a five piece recording one further album, Real Estate, released in 2001. With Clark back in the fold Dodgy played at Glastonbury Festival in 2009 and have continued to tour ever since releasing further albums Stand Upright In A Cool Place in 2012 and What Are We Fighting For in 2016.
Support on the night will come from Liam Fender and Ryder.
