Mela stalls up for grabs at 2024 event

Published June 25, 2024 By

Stalls still up for grabs at 2024 Middlesbrough Mela.

There’s still a chance to be a part of one of the region’s great cultural events – but it’s strictly first come, first served.

Middlesbrough Mela returns for a 34th year over the weekend of Saturday, August 17 and Sunday, August 18.

The hugely popular multicultural showcase attracts visitors from across the region and beyond for a fantastic feast of live performance and entertainment.

The Mela is also renowned for its dazzling array of tempting food and drink, not to mention a giant shopping bazaar, free workshops, huge funfair and children’s activities.

Stall pitches for this year’s event are being snapped up quickly - any local businesses wanting to be a part of this year’s Mela are urged to get in touch as soon as possible.

Mela Executive Director Kash Patel said: “Once again we’ll have an amazing array of stalls selling everything from mouth watering street food, tasty sweets and treats, fabulous fashion and fabrics to even jewellery and toys.

“Our stallholders come from all over the UK and that speaks volumes about the laid-back, family-friendly atmosphere that’s become the trademark of the Middlesbrough Mela.

“It’s a shoppers’ paradise with an international market feel, and a fantastic opportunity to try and buy things you can’t find locally at great prices – there are a few slots left so snap them up while they’re still available.”

• The 2024 Middlesbrough Mela takes place on Saturday, August 17, and Sunday, August 18 in the town’s Albert Park.

The event is free for all to attend and tickets are not required.
