Juggy D unveiled as Diwali headliner

Published October 08, 2025 By

HEADLINER JUGGY D ANNOUNCED FOR DIWALI IN MIDDLESBROUGH.

Hitmaker Juggy D has been unveiled as the headline act at this month’s Diwali in Middlesbrough.

The self-styled Punjabi Rockstar will lead a star-studded line-up of top performers when the festival returns to Centre Square on Saturday, October 25.

He rose to fame with the smash hit Dance with You alongside Jay Sean as part of The Rishi Rich Project.

Since then, Juggy has collaborated with global artists including Madonna and Ricky Martin, while collecting numerous awards along the way.

Preparations are well under way for the town’s fifth celebration of Diwali, organised by the team behind the ever-popular Middlesbrough Mela, with the evening set to culminate in a spectacular Bollywood-themed firework finale.

Diwali in Middlesbrough Producer Kash Patel said: “After witnessing the buzz and excitement Jay Sean created in Middlesbrough this summer, it was only fair we followed up with his counterpart – Juggy D.

“Both artists have been instrumental in shaping the Asian music scene in the UK and beyond, so it’s fantastic to deliver two iconic legends back-to-back for the people of Middlesbrough.”

Diwali is a free, family-friendly event featuring live music, dance, mouth-watering street food, children’s activities, a fun fair and an unmissable Bollywood firework finale.

Celebrated globally by Hindus, Sikhs and Jains, Diwali symbolises the triumph of good over evil. Last year’s event drew thousands of people into Centre Square, and this year promises to be even bigger.

Councillor Philippa Storey, Middlesbrough Council’s Executive member for Education & Culture, said: “Diwali is a fantastic celebration for the whole family, and the team have pulled out all the stops to deliver a first class programme.

“There’s something for everyone, and we can’t wait to welcome people from across Middlesbrough and beyond to Centre Square for what promises to be a very special day.”

• Diwali in Middlesbrough is on Saturday, October 25 in Centre Square. The event is free for all to attend and tickets are not required.

Stall bookings are now open for Diwali – any traders or exhibitors wanting to book a pitch can call 07776 210066 to request a booking form.
