Run by national charity Child Bereavement UK, the group will provide 13- to 18-year-olds who have experienced the death of someone close to them a place to meet others who have had similar experiences.
The group will be a safe space to talk and will provide an opportunity to take part in practical activities such as arts, crafts and games designed to help young people explore their experiences.
Child Bereavement UK runs similar schemes across the UK, with attendees reporting the benefits of finding other young people who understand how they feel.
The support group is one of many programmes housed at The Live Well Centre in Middlesbrough.
Operated by Middlesbrough Council, the centre is an award-winning wellbeing hub that offers a wide range of support to people who want to lead healthier and happier lives.
The group will start with a welcome and introduction session on Thursday, January 16, 5.30 - 7pm at the Live Well Centre in the Dundas Shopping Centre, Dundas Street, Middlesbrough TS1 1HR.
