Albert Park plays host to the hugely popular Middlesbrough Mela over the weekend of August 15 and 16, 2026.

As the festival celebrates its 36th year, organisers have laid on a feast of world-class entertainment, international cuisine, family activities and cultural experiences.

Topping the Saturday bill in one of the event’s strongest ever line-ups is a renowned tribute to pop legend Michael Jackson.

Also appearing on Saturday will be Sona Walia, one of the world’s most talented female bhangra artists.

Global superstar and Sunday headline act Miss Pooja will be supported by pioneering British-Bangladeshi artist Mumzy Stranger, known for blending South Asian influences with contemporary R&B, hip-hop, Afrobeats, UK urban and global pop sounds.

Also on Sunday’s line-up are multi award-winning, singer, songwriter and composer Veronica, recognised as a pioneer of South Asian fusion music, and renowned British Bhangra band XLNC.

The multicultural showcase attracts visitors from across the region and beyond for its unrivalled blend of live performance, entertainment and mouth-watering food from around the world.

Festival-goers can expect a vibrant mix of international headliners, home-grown talent, dance acts and family favourites throughout the weekend.

BBC Asian Network will once again return as the event’s official broadcast partner and host, strengthening its relationship with Middlesbrough Mela while bringing audiences a packed schedule of entertainment, competitions, giveaways and live coverage across the weekend.

Beyond the music, Middlesbrough Mela is renowned for its dazzling selection of international food and drink, bustling shopping bazaar, free cultural workshops, giant funfair and extensive programme of children’s activities.
