See you next year! That’s the message from delighted organisers of Diwali in Middlesbrough after the colourful celebration drew huge crowds to Centre Square. 

The Captain Cook Birthplace Museum in Middlesbrough has received a boost from a national fund. 

The much‑anticipated Middlesbrough Mela 2025, marking the festival’s 35th anniversary, returned in style to Albert Park on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 August, as one of the UK’s longest-running multicultural festivals, it drew over 50,000 visitors across the weekend Middlesbrough Council. 

One of Middlesbrough’s most vibrant and popular cultural celebrations will be drawing in the crowds at the weekend.
