Cleveland Fire Authority is urging other retailers to follow Sainsbury’s lead and ban the sale of fireworks.

Fire safety and reducing the number of deliberate fires are on the shopping list for Cleveland Fire Brigade as they look to support smaller retail premises with sleeping accommodation above.

FORGOTTEN film reels of the 1950’s and 60’s showing Middlesbrough firefighters in training and on parade have been digitised by the team at North East Film Archive to allow Cleveland Fire Brigade to showcase a bit of their history.

Cleveland Fire Brigade is appealing to the public for support after repeated violent attacks on firefighters in the Northern Road, Whinney Banks area of Middlesbrough.
