The dancer, choreographer and presenter was a Strictly Come Dancing professional for seven series, as well as featuring regularly on Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two alongside Zoe Ball.
More recently he joined the cast of the 40th season of Dancing With The Stars, Australia’s answer to Strictly.
Now he’ll tread the boards at Middlesbrough Theatre as the Wicked Ringmaster in their production of Goldilocks and the Three Bears, a family-friendly Christmas pantomime.
Ian Waite will be well known to audiences at the theatre having previously visited to perform alongside Vincent Simone on their much loved Ballroom Boys tour.
They can now see him in a very different role as the wicked circus owner going head-to-head with Goldilocks and her three bears as they battle to wrest the circus from his evil clutches.
Ian Waite said: “I am thrilled to be returning to the Middlesbrough Theatre in December, and I am looking forward to being ‘Wicked’ in my role as The Ringmaster in Goldilocks and the Three Bears. See you all in December!”
Ian will be joined by fan favourite Philip Green who will celebrate seven years of wowing audiences at the theatre, this time in the role of Joey the Clown.
As usual, visitors will enjoy stunning sets, dazzling costumes and lots of audience participation in this spectacular production that promises to delight the whole family.
Middlesbrough Theatre Manager David Lindsey said: “We’re delighted to welcome Ian Waite back to Middlesbrough Theatre for our Christmas pantomime.
“His Ballroom Boys tour was immensely popular with our audience, and we’re excited to see him perform the iconic role of the Wicked Ringmaster.
“With Ian and Philip on board, this year’s pantomime will be an unmissable festive event.”
