In line with a national campaign of illuminating important local structures, Middlesbrough will be raising awareness of the fight against AIDS and HIV in Centre Square on Friday, December 1 from 4pm-6pm.
Members of the public can also show support by attending the event or simply by wearing red or red ribbons.
The day marks the advances made in treating the disease but acknowledging that more needs to be done to raise awareness of the fact that HIV and AIDS is still a condition that affects more than 100,000 people in the UK. It reminds the public that HIV has not gone away and there is still a vital need to raise money, increase awareness, fight prejudice and improve education.
