North Riding Football League Tables
Boro Rangers are up to second spot in the North Riding Football League Premier Division after a shock 7-1 demolition of previously-unbeaten Redcar Newmarket. There were braces for Matty McQueeney and Curtis Dryden, plus additional strikes from Coy Blake, Jamie Bellamy and Joe Woods. Jamie Graham replied for Newmarket.
Bedale won the battle of the top two in Division One, a 12-goal thriller, as Dale triumphed 8-4, after going four up in half an hour. Dan Baxter fired four, Michael Stevens, David Cooke, Chris Hope and Matthew Goodwin completed the hosts' scoring. League leaders Redcar Athletic Reserves replied through Aaron Dale (2), Marcus Wood's penalty and Alex Anderson's goal.
In the MacMillan Bowl, Premier Division leaders Redcar Town rattled in eleven against First Division bottom club Middlesbrough & Teesside Sports Academy. Clark Reader fired five, with Stu Poulter hammering a hat-trick. Ryan Maltby, Ben Sandie and Andrew Porritt also netted.
Another Premier v First Division clash failed to see an upset as St Marys 1947 defeated Lingdale Village 3-1. Paul Vaughan scored twice with Chris Peacock adding the third, Lingdale responded through Ste Combellack.
Billingham Town Reserves also benefited from their higher status, but it was only a narrow victory at Great Ayton United Royals. Ben Beilby had put Ayton ahead, but goals from Luke Larkin, either side of the break, won it for the visiting side.
Staithes enjoyed their first victory of the season against fellow Premier strugglers Yarm & Eaglescliffe. Connor Hood opened the scoring for the seaside outfit around the half hour, only for Harry Noble to equalise from the penalty spot, on 67 minutes. Carl Flatters then put Staithes back ahead with a spot kick of his own, before Jake Thompson wrapped it up, five minutes later, for the villagers.
In an all second-tier affair, Stokesley Reserves won 3-2 against Loftus Athletic. Dan Caney, James Dowson and Jordan Sherwood notched for the victors, while Jordan Rowe scored twice for Athletic.
BEADS won a 12-goal all-Premier clash at Nunthorpe Athletic. Tom Atkinson's treble continued his great form for the hosts, but BEADS powered home thanks to an amazing double hat-trick from Michael Shellard, Karl Liley's double and a ninth from Nathan Summersgill.
Another all-top-tier encounter saw Thornaby Dubliners enjoy a 4-0 victory against Guisborough United, with Anton Buchanan netting a hat-trick and Matthew Parry also on target.
Fishburn Park and Grangetown progressed with walkover wins at the expense of Teesside University and Stokesley Armstrong Richardson respectively, who were both unable to raise a team.
In Sunday's Under 19 action, Guisborough stay top after a 6-0 thumping of Redcar Newmarket. The free-scoring Priorymen notched through Louis Benoit's hat-trick and further strikes from Joseph Morley, Owen Armstrong and Cameron Park.
Boro Rangers, in second, are the only other 100% side in the division as they beat Coulby Newham by a single goal. Ollie Henderson scored midway through the first half with an audacious effort from distance.
Kader are third after being held 2-2 by Richmond Town. Adam Campbell and Ryan Blades netted for the hosts, who had the better of the first half, with Richmond indebted to goalkeeper Mark Walker for keeping them in the game. However, after the interval, Town had the better of it. Their goals came through Tom Carnegie-Brown and Danny Weatherall.
Fourth-placed Thornaby did their goal difference a world of good with the biggest win in all three divisions, this season. Bottom club Middleton Rangers were swept aside 16-0 as Joe Pickett fired five, Dylan Barker four and Will Hutchinson also helped himself to a hat-trick. Lewis Heap, Kieran Mulroy, Tom Dobbs and Ethan Ward also found the net.
Second-bottom Hartlepool FC also remain winless after a 4-0 reverse at home to Billingham Synthonia. Synners' scorers were hat-trick hero Matty Ashworth and Connor Mulloy.
Finally, Northallerton Town enjoyed a 3-1 home victory against the other Hartlepool side, Pools Youth. Joe Vickers, Sam Tosh and Jack Stapley netted for Northallerton, with Ben Forsyth pulling one back for Pools.
