Talented fine artist Andy Broderick will be holding a one-day watercolour masterclass at the Captain Cook Birthplace Museum on Friday, October 13.
The workshop is aimed at giving participants a real insight into the skills and techniques involved in watercolour painting.
There are opportunities to go into the museum’s galleries and see some of the original works of Sydney Parkinson on loan from the Natural History Museum.
There’s also inspiration to be found in the prints of other artists who accompanied Captain Cook around the globe.
Participants will also be able to access the brand new Australian Walkabout gallery and have opportunities to use some of the brand new taxidermy on display to inspire their own artwork.
Museums Access Officer Jenny Phillips said: “Andy is the perfect artist to work with to begin and extend your watercolour skills within the museum as he has spent time in Australia himself drawing the wildlife he saw while he was out there,
“The class is aimed at adults who want to try something different in a relaxed and friendly setting.”
- The watercolour class costs £40 per person or £35 with an Explorer Pass.
