The event, being held on Thursday, January 18 from 5.30pm to 8pm at M&S Middlesbrough Café in Hillstreet Shopping Centre, will offer locals the opportunity to connect with others over the age of 50 in the town in a bid to tackle loneliness and isolation.

Rebecca said: “Thanks to support from Big Lottery Fund using National Lottery Funding, we work with older people across Middlesbrough, to tackle loneliness and social isolation.

“We are really looking forward to welcoming people to our event and helping them start the New Year in a positive and relaxed frame of mind.”

Terri-Anne Rigg, M&S Middlesbrough Store Manager, said: “Loneliness is such a pressing issue in our society and a cause our employees and customers feel strongly about.

“We are proud to be helping Ageing Better bring older people together – who otherwise may not have even met – in a safe and familiar setting.

“We have had a fantastic response from previous events and hope to see locals join us again to forge more friendships and learn about health and wellbeing.”
